Celebrating Christmas '17
Photos of my May '17 visit to Kenya
Our new school uniforms
School uniforms are required in Kenya. Students are sent home for lack of shoes and uniform. The Glorious Fountain Primary School, where ten of our children attend, has gone easy on us because of our number and are allowing our children to wear their gym uniform from our previous school. But we needed to complete our uniforms with a school tie, so Pat Watts provided the money.
Thank you, Pat!
October '17 - a church in Ruiru donated several textbooks for the children.
With the move from our rented house in Thika to our permanent home in Landless came a change in schools...and a change in school uniforms. Primary students Grades 1-7 will go to Glorious Fountain Primary School; our three Freshmen have been admitted to Thika Garrison H.S.; and our three Class 8 and three high school students are at Heights H.S. Click on the photo to enlarge it and see the name of the child.

We had our first pizza! Don H. donated money for the children to have special meals. We celebrated Christmas with chapatis. Then we celebrated the arrival of our three sisters with chicken. With the money remaining from Don's donation, we had pizza.
Three sisters getting settled - donations for the three sisters who joined us in June provided the girls with new school uniforms, backpacks, shoes, and games kit (P.E. outfit).
Baptism - Our four oldest children - Edah, Violet, Ruth, and Solomon - were baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit on April 26, 2015. Below are photos of their baptism.
Our March '15 visit
New School Term January '15 - The children began their new school year in January. Each term is three months in length. The schools close for holiday at the end of each three-month term (April, August, and December). All students are required by the Kenyan government to wear a school uniform. Many children do not attend school because they lack the money for a uniform.
